We are dedicated in the way we carry out our business to make as little an impact on the environment as possible. Since we bought the house in August 2007 we have set about making changes and will continue to do so as we make further improvements to Pine Ridge. We are lucky as a previous owner fitted solar panles that help to offset energy consumption. At Pine Ridge we follow these three simple rules:

Refuse packaging as much as possible at source

Buy local produce as much as possible

Reduce energy consumption wherever and whenever possible

At Pine Ridge we have made a start to making our house fit for the future.

• Replacement of light bulbs to energy efficient lamps
• Replacement of old and very inefficient boiler and new radiators throughout the house
• New insulation to the large loft spaces
• Refusal of excess packaging at shops and the cash and carry (still cuases a stir at the checkouts!)
• Separation of household refuse
• No minature toiletries purchased with dispensers used in rooms so reducing packaging. (we would likle to find a solution to packaged tea/coffee/biscuits in the rooms)
• Use of Ecover washing and laundry products

It is early days but we will continue to run our business as we would run our home and will be doing everything we can to make our house 'fit for the future'.

Our home is ideal for a quick weekend break for some highland fresh air to recharge your batteries, a relaxing get-away or for some thrills on the hills for the more energetic! Our large double room is a great place to escape to for a romantic weekend where your privacy and peace is our priority.
